Benzyl benzoate is used as a topical acaricide, scabicide, and pediculicide in veterinary hospitals. Benzyl benzoate is used as a repellent for chiggers, ticks, and mosquitoes. It is also used as a dye carrier, solvent for cellulose derivatives, plasticizer, and fixative in the perfume industry.
